Blessings to my Daughters

Every father is responsible to call out the true femininity of his daughter. His blessings give his daughter a healthy sense of self-worth and enable them to carry themselves with grace.

Dear Melanie,

Happy 37th birthday. It seems like you are having two a year the years are going by so fast. We never tire of thanking you for your kindness, generosity and thoughtful care. You have blessed and refreshed us over and over again.

I also thank you for your encouraging words that give us the heart to press on in the work of the Lord. Knowing that our daughter is a friend who cares about our authentic success helps keep our focus and priorities in order. Here is a great birthday prayer for you.

Lord, I invite you to come and live your life in my life today.
Lord, here is my brain, think with it.
Lord, here is my face, smile through it.
Lord, here is my tongue, so speak to people with it.
Lord, here is my ear, listen to persons with it.
Lord, here is m y hand, touch someone with it.
Lord, here are my arms, lift and hug someone with them.
Lord, here are my feet, walk with them where you want to go today.
Lord, I want to be a beautiful "Christ, In Person."
Amen

"W.O.W. Wonder of Wonders! I'm spiritually immunized to live, and work, and struggle, and play, and loveCas I live in this world of Redemptive." (Dr. Robert Schuller)

Melanie, you are a W.O.W. person. Have a happy day.

Dear Charlotte,

Happy Birthday! Thank God for the gift of a daughter we can bless, a daughter who is one of God's magnificent trees of righteousness, a daughter who has a clear vision of where she is going and a strong commitment to her Biblical values. We praise God that your life is being lived in keeping with your Biblical values.

We are also excited that you have a hunger for God and a desire for a fresh daily relationship with Him. Paul expressed some of our prayers for you when he said, "I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can see something of the future he has called you to share. I want you to realize that God has been made rich because we who are Christ's have been given to him! (Ephesians 1:18 TLB)

I love watching you work with music. You're so natural at it. Our church people were amazed at the way Shanelle wiggled onto your lap and you never missed a beat. That incident was a good picture of what you are learning about life. God is giving you the grace to accept interruptions in your plans as His appointments and eyes to see His boundaries. By the time your next birthday comes you will be surprised by the amount of flexibility your life exhibits. You will enjoy the new freedom it gives you. Happy 33 Birthday

Dear Cynthia,

For three decades your life has been lived to the praise and glory of your Saviour and an honour to your parents, family and church. We thank God for your strong determination to accomplish God's goals for you regardless of the opposition. Its been exciting to watch the gift of faith grow in your life and for the way that you are building faith in the lives of your children. How I rejoice every time I see you boldly declare the word of faith.

You have followed your mother's example of efficiency and orderliness. It's always a pleasure to walk into your house and see a place for everything and everything in it's place. You are entering the fourth decade of your life. This will be a decade in which you will witness the focus of your life sharpen and God's purposes for you clarified. It is also a decade when God will test the sincerity of your heart to love Him above all else. We are convinced that you will pass each test with flying colours and this will multiply the intensity of joy and happiness you experience.

May the glory of the lord be upon you with more blessing than your imagination thought possible. Thank you for all your expressions of love and loyalty during this past year.

Happy 30th Birthday.

Dear Melanie,

I am sitting at my computer fascinated by the fact that there is always something positive and wonderful to say about you. That's because you are growing in wisdom, spiritual stature and in favour with God and man.

I am working on a message titled, "From Wimps to Warriors." It's a message about transforming the church from a collection of yellow-belly wimps to an army of spiritual warriors. Immediately I was reminded of the influence you've had on me to be a warrior and not a wimp. You have prodded me to be more involved in the abortion issue and to march for Jesus. Your willingness to fight for what is right has inspired me to stand up and be counted. You've encouraged me to become a champion of the home school movement.

I think the following scriptures speak positively of your life. "The wicked flee when no one is chasing them! But the godly are bold as lions!" (Prov 28:1 TLB) "He does not fear bad news, nor live in dread of what may happen. For he is settled in his mind that Jehovah will take care of him. That is why he is not afraid but can calmly face his foes."(Ps 112:78 TLB) "Now when they beheld the boldness of Peter and John, and had perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus." (Acts 4:13 ASV)

May God grant you many more years of blessing.

Dear Charlotte,

Happy 32nd birthday. We treasure you as God's wonderful gift to us. The delight of having you for our daughter keeps growing by leaps and bounds. Each year I think, how could the joy and satisfaction of the fruit of her life bring us any greater joy?

I find myself speechless before the Lord for His grace in yours and Steve's lives. All I can say is AThank! Thankyou! Thankyou Lord! Thankyou that Charlotte is building her life around Your agenda. Thankyou that she has not forsaken the instruction of her Father not the law of her Mother. Thankyou that we are an ornament of grace upon her head and like golden chains around her neck." (Prov. 1:8,9)

Charlotte, when your children are 32 and living for Jesus you'll understand how over-whelmed with joy we are, and you'll remember this card. And you'll say, "There is no joy like the joy of my children living for Jesus. There is no contentment like the contentment of seeing my kids satisfied with the Lord. There is no peace like the peace of knowing your daughter's life is hid with Christ in God."

Thankyou for the honour you gave your Mother and I on our 60th birthdays. We'll cherish those two days forever. Have a happy birthday.

Dear Cynthia,

You've had another wonderful year Cynthia. Another year of completing Christ's purposes for your life. Its been another year of joy for your family and your parents as we watch you continue to perfect Christ's image in your life. We are so blessed to have you for a daughter.

The birth of Corey was likely the highlight of the year for you. Its another life for you and Berry to shape into the image of Jesus. We constantly thank God that you have chosen the noble profession of motherhood and that you study to excel in that wonderful God ordained role. That is the highest form of ministry that you can render to your Saviour. You and Berry continue to do a wonderful job of making Jesus real to your children.

Last your continued loyalty to the body of believers God has called you to serve among brings great joy to our hearts. Its gratifying to see that you haven't held back, you have unselfishly given of yourself. Cynthia, you continue to fulfill our fondest expectations and dreams. Your life continues to certify us as qualified ministers of the Lord Jesus.

Enjoy another wonderful successful year.

Dear Melanie,

The cover of the card says it all. "Daughters are a special gift." You are special because of the wonderful way that God made you with the capacity to bring happiness into the lives of those around you.

We find you special because you're not plastic, synthetic or phony. You are real, real in your love for the Lord, real in your love for family and friends. God thinks you're special because He's given you an excellent marriage, wonderful happy, healthy children plus a fifth child as a late birthday present. God declared you were special by dying on the cross so that you could spend eternity with Him.

This year, enjoy what it means to be a special daughter of God and Eugene and Sonia Harder.

Many happy returns on this your birthday.

Dear Charlotte;

On this anniversary of the Lord blessing us with your birth I pray that you would sense the Glory of the Lord upon your head. That you would know beyond any shadow of doubt that your Saviour has established the work of your hands and that it is precious in His sight, and that your worship is a delight to Him.

This year you have shown a gracious boldness by accepting the challenge of a TLC group. God has planted in you a new confidence that what you say and do will result in lasting benefit to those God brings under the shelter of your roof. I love it.

It is wonderful to see the contentment that you are discovering in the things God has given you. I was proud to see the way you and Steve made a wise decision not to pursue the Ferguson Ave. home. Our hearts rejoice to see the way you are discovering the great joy there is in instilling courage, hope and confidence in those who have been robbed and abused by Satan. God is raising you up to be a daughter of encouragement.

I can't help but think what a great future Steve, Brahm and Shanelle have because you are a woman of moral excellence and integrity. That is your most precious possession. It is the one character trait that will guarantee that you will finish life well. Virtue gives radiance to your countenance, clarity to your eyes and authenticity to your being.

Dear God, bless Charlotte with a year of wonderful surprises. Allow her to drink from your well and know that her soul is satisfied. Protect her as the apple of Your eye. Amen.

Dear Cynthia;

It's a great delight to once again express in words our delight with God's gift to us of you. The words of Peter express our feelings, "You have been chosen by God himself . . . you are holy

and pure, you are God's very own, all this so that you may show to others how God called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light. (1 Pet 2:9 TLB)

You are a wonderful daughter who was put together by the creator of the universe for special, divine purposes. When I think of your life and God's purposes, phrases like the following come to my mind, "anointed by the Spirit of God," "recovery of sight," and "release of the oppressed."

God has blessed you with the spirit of courage, you don't run from difficult situations. Your courage is fortified by the loyalty you show to significant people God brings into your life.

We have often been refreshed by your loyalty. Each time I was in hospital, you were there immediately. Loyalty is a beautiful gem in your crown. I believe your loyalty and courage grows out of your strong faith in and devotion to Jesus. To our loyal daughter, faithful wife, caring mother, servant of the most High God we say, Happy birthday.

Dear Charlotte:

It's always a delight to pen words of blessing to my daughter and especially as she begins her fourth decade of living. This is going to be a good decade for you because of four wonderful graces you have cultivated in your life.

First you have learned the importance of working together with others to accomplish things that cannot be done alone. The second special grace is your willingness to limit your freedom so you don't offend those whom God has called you to serve. A third rare grace is you ability to express your real thoughts, opinions and feelings with tenderness. The fourth grace is also rare today. You understand how precious loyalty to Steve, your family and church family is.

These are things that make you such a beautiful daughter, wife, mother and friend. God has richly blessed us by giving us the joy of a daughter like you. You have a marvellous future because of your faith in Jesus, the love of a faithful true husband and a family of relatives and friends.

May God bless your music teaching in a large way so that a large number of musicians will be raised up so that the generations to come might praise the Lord.

Dear Melanie;

This has been another eventful year for you. The birth of Telen, fresh education challenges and countless opportunities for character development. We thank God for a daughter with so many special character qualities that delight God and us.

It's not uncommon for you to make your schedule and priorities secondary to the wishes of those you serve. I have sense a growing contentment as you focus on the roles of wife, parent, teacher and leader that God has called you to function in. It's been exciting to see your determination to go God's way regardless of the opposition. Your gift of leadership continues to manifest it's credibility as you inspire others to let their light shine for Jesus.

The last beautiful surprise for us is your self-control. 15 years ago I felt that was an impossible dream, but here you are today, obedient to the initial prompting of the Holy Spirit. All this is a reality because of Psalm 18:1 being a reality to you. All these words to say, hope you know how much you are cherished, how deeply you are loved.

Happy birthday to a faithful wife, competent parent, devoted teacher, loyal disciple and our cherished daughter.
