On December 2, 1980 Jim Tobin was flying a Beachcraft King Air at 9000. A red annunciator light came on indicating that the rear door was ajar. He told the co-pilot that he was going back to check the status of the door. Suddenly the door flew open and sucked Jim out of the plane. Jim grabbed a yellow nylon rope and got his foot locked in the door way.
