The Truths We Believe

These Truths We believe

1. God
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
a. God the Father is the Creator and Sustainer of this universe. In His Infinite wisdom and love He planned the salvation of mankind through Jesus Christ.
b. Jesus Christ is true God and true man, who was born of the virgin Mary and lived a perfect life. He was crucified for our sins, rose from the dead and was exalted to the right hand of God.
c.The Holy Spirit effects salvation in the lives of those who believe in Christ. He convicts, guides, teaches, rebukes, indwells, empowers, comforts, intercedes, unites believers into one body, and glorifies Christ.
2. The Revelation Of God.

We believe that God has made His power and deity known In creation and in manifestations of His power. He reveals His character, nature and love in the Bible.
He revealed Himself supremely and finally In the Lord Jesus Christ, as recorded In the New Testament.
Men of God were inspired and moved by the Holy Spirit to write the entire Bible which we accept as the infallible Word of God and the authoritative guide for the Christians faith and life.

3. Man And Sin.
Man was created In the Image of God, sinless and in fellowship with God, He had a free will to make moral choices. By sinning he brought death upon the whole human race. As a consequence all people are sinners by nature, guilty before God and in need of forgiveness and restoration.

4. Salvation By Grace.
Mankind finds salvation by accepting the payment Jesus made for our sins by his death on the cross. We accept that payment by confessing our sins to God and by faith receiving His forgiveness.

5. The Christian Life
The Christian lives in fellowship with God and other believers and joins a local church at baptism. The believer contributes to the building of the body of Christ with his material and spiritual gifts. By obedience to the Word of God the believer grows to a maturity that is best expressed in the "fruit of the Spirit".

Since their bodies are "temples of the Holy Spirit" believers refrain from those things which harm their bodies and the minds. In striving for perfection believers recognize their complete dependence upon God and their daily need of His forgiveness and cleansing.

6. The Church Of Christ.
The church was established by Christ and is comprised of all who put their faith in Him and are baptized by the Spirit and water into one body, regardless of nation, race or social class. Despite the diversity in congregations and denominations, the Holy Spirit creates unity among all the people of God.

7. The Mission Of The Church.
Because the Gospel is "the power of God unto salvation", Christ commanded every member of His church to make Christian disciples of all nations.

8. Christian Ministries.
God through the Holy Spirit has endowed all His children with gifts for Christian ministries. Some members are called to lead, to preach, to teach, to evangelize, and to nurture. The church commissions and ordains people for such ministries and loves, respects, and supports those who serve faithfully.

9. Christian Water Baptism.
Christians should be immersed in water upon confession of their faith in Christ. By baptism a believer enters into the fellowship of the local church and commits him/herself to a life of discipleship and service.

10. The Lord's Supper.
In the New Testament Church when anyone believed in Jesus Christ, they were immersed and then observed the Lord's Supper. In preparation every believer is to examine him/herself so as to partake in a worthy manner. Those who are at peace with God and their fellow men are invited to the Lord's Table.

11. Christian Marriage
God instituted marriage. Believers who marry should have a common Christian commitment and not marry an unbeliever. Divorce is a violation of God's intention for marriage. Christian parents should nurture their children through exemplary living, prayer, worship, instruction In God's Word, and godly discipline

12. The Lord's Day
God has called us to reserve a day for rest and worship. We follow the example of the New Testament Church and gather on the first day of the week for worship and the spiritual encouragement of one another.

13. Christian Integrity.
Christians are obligated to speak the truth at all times. As a witness to our integrity we refuse the making of oaths, in keeping with what Jesus taught in the Sermon on the Mount. Christians avoid holding membership in secret societies and seek to foster open fellowship among believers.

14. The State.
God has Instituted the state. We pray for our government, respect those in authority, pay taxes, obey all laws not in conflict with the Word of God. We witness against corruption and injustice in society.
A Christian’s chief concern and primary allegiance is to Christ's kingdom.

15. Love And Nonresistance.
Christians should live by the law of love and practice forgiveness of enemies as taught and exemplified by Jesus.

16. Christ's Final Triumph.
God will some day complete His purposes on earth. When He returns the dead In Christ will be raised and together with the living believers they will be transformed and dwell forever with the Lord. In the end all evil powers will be defeated, the ungodly shall suffer eternal punishment, the believers shall enjoy eternal bliss in the presence of God.

"The fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever. The ordinances of the LORD are sure and altogether righteous. They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the comb. By them is your servant warned; in keeping them there is great reward "
